Volunteer Work
I’ve done volunteer website work for some great non-profit organizations:
NATURAL DISASTERS – Started by Abe Fergussen, a high school student from Trinidad & Tobago, this website focuses on raising global awareness among youth on issues of climate change and natural disasters.
Abe is an advocate and a diplomat!
PORT OF SPAIN ATLANTA SISTER CITIES NETWORK– Gia Gaspard Taylor, educator, mentor and visionary volunteer, uses this web site to call attention to the sister cities program as well as many other volunteer projects in Trinidad & Tobago and abroad.
INTERCONNECTION – This Seattle-based organization promotes appropriate use of computer technology in underdeveloped countries by sending donated computers overseas, among other programs. In the past, Interconnection has matched volunteer web designers with emerging non-profits in other countries.
CRITTER CHATTER – An Atlanta-based online magazine for pet lovers, it’s run as a labor of love by Dave Barwick. While not a non-profit, Critter Chatter promotes events and organizations related to pet rescue and animal advocacy. In this way Dave serves the community by raising awareness and connecting animals in need with those willing to lend a hand.
AND, Critter Chatter is fun and informative, too!
